Following the burial of their son, Miso Mandla, on Saturday 26 February, the family is now seeking justice.

The 20-year-old was laid to rest at his home town of Centane in the Eastern Cape.

Mandla was allegedly stabbed and injured by his friend after a short argument over a bottle of brandy on Saturday 12 February at LTA temporal in Langa (“Man killed for bandy”, City Vision, 24 February).

Noxolo Mntuwaphi, Mandla’s cousin, said they are relieved that the funeral is over. She said everything went well and their focus is now on getting justice for him.

“Mandla’s body was buried before the service started. The coffin had to go straight to the graveyard because he died of an accident.

“It (coffin) was not allowed to come inside the house,” she explained. She said they are relieved now that Mandla’s body was laid to rest.

Langa Police Station spokesperson Capt Nondumiso Paul said a murder case is under investigation.

She said a 22-year-old-man has since been arrested.
