Her soothing voice will make you drop whatever you are doing and listen.
Sandisa Skelenge (19), who goes by the stage name Linamandla, is an up-and- coming Afro Soul musician from Zola, Nomzamo.
The name, Linamandla was given to her by her aunt who died when she was only a year old.
Linamandla said she decided to use the name as it was only her aunt who used it to “honour” her.
Currently, she is pushing her single called Amalanga whichshe released in June this year.
Linamandla told City Vision she decided to pursue music after passing her matric in 2020.
“In 2021 I met a group of guys and we started singing which was not something serious. After we broke up because of different commitments i decided to do my own music,” she said.
“I write my own music and I have now also decided to record and register my music. So far things are going well and in October I will be dropping another single called ‘Dark World’,” said Linamandla.
Linamandla said she loved music so much and it was the only thing she could with “passion”.
“When you do something you love, its even difficult to express the feeling. I love it so much, and next year I am planning to study something that is in line with music,” she assured.
Linamandla said, though she was scared to sing at school, she has been part of a Sunday school at her Masibulele Presbyterian Church (Rhabe) in Lwandle. She believes she has a lot to give and music loves will hear her music in the not so distant future.
Linamandla’s music can be found on digital platforms such as Spotify and Amazon.
