Murder accused Thando Shuba received R800 bail from Khayelitsha Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 26 April.

Shuba (34) is linked to a shooting that left six people dead, in Enkanini, on Sunday 20 March.

It is believed Shuba was linked to the heinous crime through the clothing he was wearing.

A state witness told the police the accused was wearing a white vest and a pair of shorts when he pulled a gun and shot at them.

Shuba was then identified through an identification parade by the witness.

The father of two minor children is unemployed and has other pending cases of murder and being in possession of an unlawful firearm against him.

Through his lawyer, Shuba has indicated he will plead not guilty to all the six counts of murder levelled against him.

The accused is heavily relying on surveillance footage placing him outside of Khayelitsha during the shooting.

Shuba told the court through his lawyer that on the day in question he was in Delft with friends and only went to Khayelitsha later.

He said he was not familiar with the area the incident occurred nor did he know or have any friends in the area.
