The Lwandle community is reeling after the discovery of a body of an unknown man along Onverwacht Road with stab wounds to his body on Monday 12 June.
They body was discovered in the morning by a passerby who was going to work.
A resident, who identified herself as Nwabisa, said she came across the body while she was on her way to the taxi rank.
“As I was going to work, I saw a group of people standing together. One of my neighbours called me to come and see if I could recognise the body, which although it was covered in blood, did not appear to have any stab wounds,” she said, describing murder as something common in the area.
Lwandle Police Station spokesperson Sgt Mthokozisi Gama confirmed the incident. He said a murder docket was opened following the discovery of an unknown male body at about 08:05 on Onverwacht Road, opposite Nomzamo and Lwandle.
“Police were alerted and found an unknown body with a stab wound on the left leg and at the back of the ear. The deceased was wearing a blue jean with no shirt or shoes.”
“The motive behind the murder is unknown at this stage and no arrest has been made.”
