Members of the Nyanga Community Policing Forum (CPF) are happy with the newly appointed Brown’s Farm Satellite Police Station commander, Capt Ndumiso Gordon.

The station, located at one of the City’s facilities near the Brown’s Farm Library, was opened on Thursday 1 August.

Nyanga CPF secretary Dumisani Qwebe said the new satellite station would bring stability in the Nyanga policing precinct.

He described Gordon as a hard worker who dedicated his life to serving the community. “We are lucky to have Capt Gordon here. I’ve worked with him before, while he was stationed at Philippi Railway Police Station between 2018 and 2022.

“He is a man we can trust. He doesn’t sleep at work.” Therefore, Qwebe added, the CPF welcomed him with open arms.

He said within a few weeks of the station opening there is already a discernible difference in the area.

Qwebe urged all community stakeholders to work with the officers.

“This is the start of so many good things to come. If we are united we will conquer crime. Officers alone cannot fight crime. They need our assistance as the community.”

He described Brown’s Farm as one of the hotspots in the Nyanga policing precinct. He highlighted car hijacking, robbery, extortion and murder as just some of the crimes reported in the area.
