No smiles for criminals, local or foreign

The rape of eight women allegedly by foreign nationals in Krugersdorp was the last straw for me.

The rape of eight women allegedly by foreign nationals in Krugersdorp was the last straw for me.

The fact that some of the alleged perpetrators are undocumented and illegal in the country sends chills down my spine.

What has happened in this beautiful country of ours?

The lawlessness is gobsmacking to say the least.

With millions of South Africans without jobs, and the least paying job opportunities also being dominated by foreign nationals it is a great concern.

When foreign nationals commit such atrocities we are left speechless and wondering what will be next.

The dysfunctional border patrols and corruption are some of the reasons we find ourselves where we are.

If the government had their priorities in order we would not be reacting to such ruthless attacks on our most vulnerable human beings. We have heard of drug brothels in Hillbrow, but to this day nothing seems to be done. The government will wait until something happens then react. Why is this government such a reactionary? This government reacts on many issues affecting the country.

Without sounding xenophobic, I believe there should be no leniency on any foreign national found flouting South African laws. They must be sent to a dark prison or deported to their respective countries with no hope of being allowed back in SA.

When we are trying to fix our country it should not be mistaken or viewed as xenophobia. I am definitely sure, no South African will be allowed to run amok and do as they please in any other country. So, why should we allow foreigners to do as they please in our country?

We should not shy away or think twice in trying to fix this country. We as the country need to do whatever it takes to fix it without fear of being labelled as xenophobic or condemned. If we can’t fix it ourselves, who do we expect to fix it on our behalf?

The old saying that our politicians were also housed in these African countries before the South African liberation. However, that cannot justify the social ills caused by our own brothers and sisters.

I am sure those politicians were there for a common purpose and not to destroy those countries as we are experiencing.

If people want to be accommodated in any country they should abide by laws of that nation, simple as that. We can no longer sugar-coat the sheer disregard of our laws any longer. Yes, crime has no nationality or colour but this is too much to stomach.
