Hlompho Ramabele, also known as iMbongi Yodumo uses his pen through poetry to showcase his talent and purpose in life.
The 21-year-old from Asanda Village in Strand believes he has discovered poetry as his “calling”.
He said he has decided to leave many things in lifeto fulfil and honour the calling from God and his ancestors.
The young man, originally from Sibi at Matatiele in Kwazulu Natal, also dubs himself as a script writer, hustler, entrepreneur and upcoming author to name just a few.
“I’m well known by the Twelve Apostles Church in Trinity that has over five million members in the country and across the continent.
“By being part of this church made me develop more skills that assisted me to become stronger in my work,” he claimed.
“I discovered that poetry is a calling from above and I decided to leave many things to honour my calling as I believe that calling came from God and ancestors. I explored my talent in poetry by performing at big church events around the country and during government events,” he said.
Ramabele said in 2018 he joined H.U.S Records Studio which gave him the feeling of how the recording studio is.
He said he has always had a dream of recording his own album.
Ramabele said the dream became a reality in 2020 when he released his first album Izingqi zembongi with 12 tracks.
He believes the demand from his followers resulted in him recording this album.
As a result, in May last year he was nominated for the Mzantsi arts and media awards.
“I made it to position two in the top 10. In the same year in June I joined TTACT Music Competition where I came first in poetry,” he said.
Ramabele said he will always be grateful to his producer Lyza 1st for giving him the opportunity of showcasing his talent, and all the team of H.U.S Record.
He also paid a special tribute to his mother for always supporting his work.
Ramabele said Izingqi zembongi is an uplifting album that gives strength during the hardship that life throws at you.
As a parting shot, Ramabele, said: “If you are dealing with challenges, God will always take care of us all, and even when we walk through the darkness, He is always keeping his sharp eye on us.”
