Members of the Langa Ministers Fraternal held a special service to pray for peace following a spate of killings in the area in recent weeks.
The service was held at Langa Taxi Rank on Sunday 27 February.
Fraternal secretary and the leader of Grace Community Church in Langa Apostle Zongamele Baliso described the service as a way of taking the pulpit to the people.
Baliso said it’s time for people to have a relationship with God. “We are living in fear. We are scared of our lives. We don’t know who is next. That is why fraternal members decided to intervene with prayer because it is clear that people are bitter out there,” said Baliso. He described Langa as a “dangerous area” where people are killed in daylight.
“Our message is clear. We want people to have inner peace so that they can be able to forgive other people. People are bitter out there. They are always angry,” he said.
He called on communities to bring back ubuntu.
Leader of the Healing Church of God in Langa Masonwabe Mahonga urged people to stay true to God.
“We are appealing to the families and the relatives of the people that were brutally killed in Langa not to question God. They must stay with Him all the time. For them to heal they must pray,” he said.
