A second suspect has been arrested in connection with former politician and activist Loyiso Mabandla’s death.
The 38-year-old man was arrested at Katlehong in Tshwane on Monday 13 November and appeared in the Pretoria Central Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 14 November.
The accused, Mziyanda Mdlungu, will make his second appearance in Athlone Magistrate’s Court on Monday 20 November.
Mabandla was struck down by a hail of bullets when attending a meeting with community leaders of informal settlements along the railway line in Philippi on Monday 27 April.
