Two for Joy aim to please in their quarter-final playoff for spot in third division

Two for Joy from Lwandle will be hoping for joy in their quarter-final encounter against Quemic United from Mitchell’s Plain on Saturday 5 November.

The two sides will square off at William Herbert Sports Complex in Wynberg with the winners progressing to the semi-finals and a possible spot in the SAB League.

Winners of the semi finals will automatically qualify to play in the SAB and the stakes will certainly be high with little or no room for error. The league is just below the lucrative Motsepe League and it pits winners of different local football associations (LFAs) against each other.

For the Lwandle side, it will be the fourth time they reach this stage of the competition and will be pulling out all the stops.

“We are hoping this time around we’ll be able to go all out and succeed. I think my players’ dedication and hunger has led us to be where we are today,” says Sandiso Sabiso Nongauza, Two for Joy Coach and Manager.

“As a team we had a long dragging disciplinary matter to deal with and it affected our players’ morale. Things that were also being said on social media had an impact because in our days people are affected by things being said on social media,” he said.

“As management we had to try our level best to motivate our players. After winning the disciplinary matter we had to focus on these play offs and we want to go out and represent our area with pride,” he said.

Nongauza said he was looking forward to the encounter and they will try to make the area of Lwandle proud by putting it on the map.
